What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?

My earrings. They’re fat silver hearts that dangle from my sagging lobes. They’re too big for my life now, but I wear them. Heavy, shiny, city baubles. Two decades ago they were a lavish panacea for pain; a silly idea, because I didn’t have earache, and everyone knows expensive metal can’t fix heartache.
