(Children’s Fiction) The other day I visited a real-life Dog Hotel built alongside the beautifully hidden ancient ruins of a Settler farmhouse in my village. I often stop there in the cool, moss-green shade to tell the canine residents of the resort about Dog Literature they might enjoy. (They LOVED Jock of the Bushveld, and they all WEPT like puppies about Marley and Me!) I read them this Goodreads young reader’s review of a jolly good 1971 novel, and my canine friends are just dying to hear more of the story : “hotel for dogs is about two kids named andi and bruce walker there father loses his job and they have to move in with there aunt alice.while there there they meet this guy named jerry gordon. aunt alice thinks that he is an angle but he is a bully. jerry has a dog named red rover and jerry treats him like a peice of trash and bruce sees that there is an empty house down the street from aunt alices and and the next day bruce and andi find a stray dog and so they take the dog in and hide it in andi’s temperarly room (sewing room) the next morning the kids awake and find four little baby puppys.So they take the dogs to the empty house and put the dogs in it. as time moves along they keep getting more and more dogs. one day jerry and his crue were sitting in a wagin and jerry slapped red rover and told him to start walking.it ended up where they hurt red rover so bruce found him and took him to the hotel.but to find out if jerry gets red rover and if bruce and andi get to keep their hotel for dogs open you have to read the amazin “HOTEL FOR DOGS” (Goodreads Reviewer : Jackie) [Hotel for Dogs by Lois Duncan, 1971, Scholastic Press 9780395123645 (ISBN10: 039512364X)] #dogsimeet #dogsofbathurst #walkingbathurst #60hits https://www.instagram.com/p/C7DrtF_Kmrp/?igsh=MWx5N3c5YXIyYWZoeQ==
