As Quentin Crisp said, “Flowers are words even a baby can understand.” And so, a
bit of happy news amidst the squalid stream of bilge this afternoon. According to the Daily Mav, South Africa has made glad history for a change by stealing the show at the 2024 Chelsea Flower Show in the Overseas Place, “when it won a gold medal with perfect scores from the RHS judges as well as awards for the “Best exhibit in the Pavilion” and the “Best New Design” award. This is unprecedented for South Africa at the Chelsea Flower show. RHS president Keith Weed CBE presented the awards to the team on the opening day of the London show.”
Jolly well done, garden gnomes and Proteas, the humble Zinnia salutes you from Boozy Bathurst.
